Privacy Policy

1. What LikePulse does

LikePulse is a free Chrome extension that analyzes public YouTube comments and Most Replayed data to identify key moments in any video. It also provides an optional AI-powered audience summary and detects products mentioned in the video.

2. Data we process

When you click "Analyze this video", LikePulse processes the following data:

• Video ID — the YouTube video identifier (e.g. dQw4w9WgXcQ). Used to fetch public comments.
• Public comments — up to 500 publicly visible comments fetched from the YouTube Data API v3. These are the same comments anyone can read on YouTube.
• Video transcript — public closed captions fetched directly from YouTube's servers, when available.
• Video title and duration — read from the YouTube page you are visiting.

We do not collect:

• Your name, email address, or any account information.
• Your YouTube watch history or activity.
• Any data from pages other than YouTube watch pages (youtube.com/watch?v=...).
• Any payment or financial information.

3. How data flows

All requests go through our Cloudflare Worker (likepulse-products.adriancubas.workers.dev), which acts as a secure proxy. The Worker:

• Calls the YouTube Data API v3 on your behalf to fetch public comments (your API key is never exposed to the browser).
• Sends a condensed summary of public comments to the Anthropic API (Claude Haiku) for the AI audience analysis.
• Detects product names mentioned in comments and returns Amazon search links.

No user identifiers, IP addresses, or personal data are included in any of these requests. The Worker does not log or store any data beyond what Cloudflare's infrastructure requires for request routing (standard access logs, retained per Cloudflare's policy).

4. Third-party services

• YouTube Data API v3 (Google LLC) — used to fetch public comments. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy and YouTube API Terms of Service.
• Anthropic API — used for AI analysis of public comments. Data sent is limited to comment text and video metadata. Subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
• Cloudflare Workers — hosts our backend proxy. Subject to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
• Amazon Associates — if AI detects products in a video, LikePulse may show Amazon links with affiliate tags (adriancubasre-20 for US, adriancubasal-21 for ES). Clicking these links may earn us a small commission at no extra cost to you. Subject to Amazon's Privacy Notice.

5. Chrome permissions used

• Access to youtube.com — required to inject the LikePulse panel on YouTube video pages. LikePulse only activates on youtube.com/watch?v=... URLs.
• storage — used exclusively to save your UI preferences (e.g. panel collapsed/expanded state, language selection) locally in your browser. Nothing is synced to external servers.

6. Cookies and local storage

LikePulse uses your browser's localStorage to save:

• Whether the panel is collapsed or expanded (likepulse_collapsed).
• Whether tooltips are visible (likepulse_tips).
• Your language preference (lp_lang).

This data never leaves your device.

7. Children's privacy

LikePulse does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The extension only processes publicly available YouTube data and does not interact with users directly.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the extension evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
